Death Valley, CA Marathon

I ran the Death Valley CA Borax Marathon yesterday and it was great (well it is now that it is over). I ran it alone but met some really wonderful people on the run and they helped push me to go faster! One guy even let me stay with him for 17 miles (I am sure I held him back but he was so kind). The thing was- they didn’t allow ipod’s on the course!!!! YIKES!!! So I was frantic to find someone to pass the time away and I had asked 2 different girls to run with me and got a very non-welcoming response. But it was a great run- however very hilly and the sun was beating on me and it felt like I was standing on the equator My time was 3:48.- I was the 8th female and 2nd in my age group to finish YIPEE! I enjoy running so much!!!!

I have to give a shout out to Mike for all his support and patience with me! He is 100% supportive. For me to do this race required so much of him, his time, and his patience and I am so very very very grateful that I got to marry someone that loves me enough to do ANYTHING for me and he is my BFF!!!! THANKS HUN! I LOVE YOU!

Wow Lady, you are the energizer bunny! I don't think I can walk two steps without my i-pod.

I thought a year or so ago that I would try to run a half marathon as a fitness goal. I wimped out and decided to do Tae Kwon Do instead. I have failed miserably on both. I guess I had better try and get my workouts in a few more times a week, eh? You are awesome. Congrats on another major notch (in your belt or on your stick? or wherever you keep track of those awesome things.)

No ipods!?! That's crazy talk. Good for you finding someone to run with you on the course. I'm training for a half marathon right now, but have to do all my running on the treadmill until it warms up - or at least until the snow and ice go away. You're an inspiration.
