As I am getting “older” I am starting to notice that life has so much more meaning and so much to offer than it did even 10 years ago. So as I celebrated my 33rd birthday I have been thinking of a lot of the things that I have learned. As I watch my kids grow up I see the world in a different light now. When I run I am always thinking of new things I have learned and I think a lot about those around. So I thought I would share 33 things that I have been thinking about the past few weeks.
1. I have awesome parents that are great examples in so many ways
2. I am so blessed to be born into such a large family- there are so many different personalities and it is so fun to see
3. My kids are so blessed with awesome grandparents and TONS of family
4. I totally married the man of my dreams- what a blessing Mike is in my life
5. The Church of Jesus Christ is true!
6. I have a SOLID testimony- but I am always working to make is stronger
7. Trials are for a reason- I know that we need to learn from them to move on
8. It is such a blessing to be a mom to 4 healthy and happy kids
9. Running is my “thing”. I have a love hate relationship with it. I only go because I ALWAYS feel so much better and happier if I “JUST DO IT”
10. I don’t notice what people have- I just don’t care! If you want me to notice something that you have- you are going to have to tell me.
11. I DO NOT deal with DRAUMA!! HATE IT!!!!
12. I have never been one to give into peer pressure. I am pretty proud of that- I do things because I want to- not bc someone else does it
13. I am not a follower- I CAN’T stand followers
14. I totally notice people’s personalities- if they are shy, insecure, outgoing, confident, leaders, followers, mean hearted, rude, thoughtful. I really read a lot into people threw their personalities. WAY TOO MUCH!
15. I look at people like cakes:
• Some are so pretty on the outside but when you cut into them they are yucky! Made with rotten eggs and splenda
• Some are plain on the outside but so beautiful and yummy on the inside- made with REAL sugar
• Some are both beautiful on the inside and on the outside
• Some have tons of decorations- so many that you don’t even want to get to close
• Some have no frosting…just a yummy cake (this is Mike)
• Some cakes try to look just like all the other cakes but no cake should look the same as any other cake
• Some are nice and neat on the outside but a mess on the inside
• Some are a mess on the outside but beautiful and organized on the inside
• There are no perfect cakes but it is important to always try to improve them
OH my list can go on- but I always compare people to cakes and “try” to be the good kind of cake (like the ones at Costco). This is a product of someone who loves sugar and runs a lot and gets lots of time to “think”
16. I have horrible grammar and spelling
17. I DO NOT compare and compete with my peers. If I feel someone is like that I can’t even pretend to be friends. I really don’t like this one!
18. I am learning to have patience… on a scale of 1-10, I am a one now- better than 10 yrs ago when I was a zero
19. I refuse to let kidney stones slow me down
20. I don’t deal well with my peers that compete and compare- I really have issues with this one!!! Did I already say this one???
21. I say what I mean----sorry! I am sure I have said things and they come out the wrong way but I am not fake
22. If I ask you how you are I really do care! I can’t stand people that ask and don’t listen and don’t care- just don’t even ask!
23. My house will NEVER be clean enough….just a fact!
24. relationships that are worth having need constant nourishment
25. I can’t fake being nice (I used to be able too)
26. I am working on controlling my emotions- I get so mad at people and yell!
27. I am very outgoing and willing to help- if I like someone
28. I think the bigger the kid gets the harder they are
29. I am adjusting to my next stage in life---I am at the stage were I have older kids and no babies and it’s been hard for me to be honest. But I know it’s right
30. I hate when “girls” look me (or anyone for that matter) up and down when we are talking- k….. Do you really think I don’t notice?
31. I have amazing support all around me.
32. I HATE to be told what to do!
33. I love sugar! I would rather run 10 miles and eat sugar than not eat it at all

I didn't realize I missed your birthday, I am sorry! Hope that you had a great celebration! We really need to do something, it has been to long since I have seen you. I would run with you, but I wouldn't be able to keep up... hee hee!
Happy Birthday you 2!! Disneyland...just another bonus to having a birthday on the same day...lucky!! I learned a few more things about you. I absolutely love everything about you. Soooo...I'm just wondering what kind of cake I am...hmmmm. I LOVE cake..so, I guess as long as it's a good on the inside one, I'm set! :)
Oh Julie--- You are the best cake ever!!!! So beautiful on the outside and then even better on the side! You even have a layer of rasberry chream cheese filling in the center!!! You truly don't get any better! You are the kind of cake I want for my birthday. Is that so sad that I look at people that way?

Amanda...what can I say...I just love you to pieces!!!! Happy Birthday!!! I love your birthday list! You are an amazing woman, an amazing mother and wife. You are raising amazing children. what kind of cake am I? a car pool cake? I hate being told what to do too! And I remember you totally coveting a certain pair of jeans!!!!lol I love ya and couldn't do much without you! you are definately one of my closest most cherished friends! thanks for everything!
