When are you the happiest?
This is just a quick thought.
Today in RS (relief society) one of my good friends was teaching the lesson. She first asked “When are you the happiest”? Of course there were the “normal” answers… vacations, when kids say things and things like that. But as I sat threw her awesome lesson (she is seriously so close to the spirit) I just kept asking myself this question. And it came to me…..I am so blessed in my life RIGHT NOW!
I can look back on many times in my life and think “oh wait I was happen then too”. But at this time in my life I am TRULY HAPPY, we have a wonderful life with fabulous kids and a strong faith in our Savior who died for us.
We have gone there trials- please don’t get me wrong but those trials have only built us up and made us closer. However, they are the trials that are going to help us with the trials to come in the future and it is going to come to us and we just pray that we are prepared. But for the meantime we are going to just be HAPPY!!! Enjoy our health, love, kids, Gospel, relationships, friends that make us want to be better people, serving those we love (and don’t know), prayers, Family home evenings, scripture study, family time and all there is to offer. Because these things make me truly happy and I am the “happiest” I have been to this point in my life.
*side note- this does not mean that everything is perfect but it doesn’t have to be to be happy! I don’t want anyone to get the wrong impression…….I get down- I get grumpy- I am normal!!!!
I love this quote by Pres. Dieter F. Uchtdorf
My dear sisters, I have a simple faith. I believe that as you are the faithful and diligent in keeping the commandments of God. As you draw closer to Him in faith, hope, charity, things will work together for your good. I believe that as you immerse yourselves in the work of our Father-as you create beauty and as you are compassionate to others- God will encircle you in the arms of His love. Discouragement, inadequacy, and weariness will give way to a life am meaning, grace and fulfillment.
